And I agree with what has already been said,
especially the part about the gold...
Too much emphasis is put into who wears what instead

I'm glad you feel better, QP. The way I see it is, you took a class and learned definitively the subject of said class is NOT something you'd like to do with your life for very sound reasons, i.e., it is no fun to feel as though you're making people sad, especially knowing how that feels from personal experience. Therefore, you have learned from this class, much more so than someone who went through the motions without insight and got a higher grade, all in all an experience which is worth so much more than a little gold rope. Besides, 'tis not the trappings that matter. It's making the most of what you have that makes all the difference. Hmmm. Who's that sound like? teehee

On the subject of counseling, I must thank you for your insight. That said, as a parent, wtf does one do for/with a kid who just will not stop doing the same stoopid shit over and over? This time it's not about the one we're kicking out of the house to learn or not on her own. Consistent reward/punishment does not work. Counseling has thusfar been ineffective in part for the very reason so eloquently stated above. Anybody? helloooo

1. Make reasonable mandates, i.e., you will turn in your homework, study for tests, improve your grades, get your frickin' license already, work this summer, and save for something useful.
2. Enforce. Good thing I lack Mrs. Lovett's gentle 'eart. Devildance

sOooo, the little brat moved out, in time for Mother's Day, just shy of graduation. Didn't want to make plans or be self sufficient, wanted a knight in shining fucking armor or someone to give her lots of money with no accountability. Years of work down the tubes, she never learned a thing.
