2006 Academy Award nominee Heath Ledger has died in NY.

He was found dead in his bed in one of his residences in Soho by his housekeeper at 3:35 PM ET today. Law enforcement sources tell TMZ they believe it was not a crime, adding that prescription pills were found near his body.

According to NYPD a masseuse arrived at Ledger's apartment and was let in by a housekeeper. When Ledger didn't answer his bedroom door, the housekeeper and the masseuse opened it and found him unconscious. They attempted to wake him; when they couldn't, they called 911.

We're told when paramedics responded, the actor was in full cardiac arrest. They attempted to perform CPR on him, but were unsuccessful. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

I know this is a story not related to Johnny, but I read this and I thought some of you may be interested.
It put me thinking about the paths of life.. This guy was not known as an addict and he has just made a film (I'm Not There)
There are shocking news and I can't imagine how his family and friends are with this more than sad event..
I send them my condolences.

He was more than once compared, since he was a really good actor.

I`m glad that Johnny is now over that age of drugs and out oy Hollywood 'cause the first thing that came into my mind was what would I do if something like this happends to him...I imagine how Heath's fans must be right now..

Rest in peace Heath :(
Sorry if I'm far out of topic, feel free to delete girls if you feel so!
thanks for posting chofy... we had all been expressing our deepest regrets on this terrible story over in the java hut...

Thank you for opening a separate thread. I was just to shocked too function there for awhile.

my heart goes out to his daughter... family and all involved. And especially to all the girls at his fansites who must be beyond devistated right now.

I truly cannot imagine their grief.

Despite all the teasing I would get... some of the old members may recall I was am a Heath fan... most enjoyably in the movie First Knight and more recently with Casanova... but had been following his career over the last decade or so starting with the TV show: Roar

Sad banana I am truly without any other words here.
I'm still in shock actually... i can't believe it.
I really liked him and he was a really good actor.
I just... really I am speachless.

RIP
I was in shock when I heard this too, my friend and I watched the news for a long time in disbelief. It's tremendously sad, I read in a few articles that playing the Joker in the new Batman movie was distressing him because of how dark the character was and he was only getting 2 hours of sleep a night. I give my prayers to all his family and friends, and wish the media wouldn't immediately jump to the suicide conclusion. It made me sick to see the footage of the crowd of people yelling and snapping pictures of the apartment and when they carried him out. It makes me very sad. May he rest in peace, and may his family have peace during this time.
i cannot believe this.
what is it that pushed this young man so far that he even would leave his beloved wife and daughter.. how is this possible?
is it really this "hollywood" thing? the world's eyes on you? are you really put that much under pressure that youre willing to leave your loved ones behind? i mean.. if i had a child.. i couldnt ever leave it alone in this world until its fully grown and ready to spread their wings.. dammit, this is so very sad.
this again proves that there must be evil in this world. otherwise i cant think of a reasonable explanation for this tragedy..
such a young life wasted. still cant believe it... cant explain it.
i hope for him he has a better life now and found his peace. poor thing.
It's not confirmed that he committed suicide, I'm not sure it can ever be truly onfirmed because no one knows what he was thinking. It could very well have been an accident, and if that's the case, I'm sure he didn't choose to leave his family and friends.
I am pretty sure it was a sad case of one is good two is better. I do not think it was suicide. He had no signs of it.

I think it was a tragic accidental thing yet again by someone under pressure to perform a career under extenuating circumstances.
sometimes you cant tell if someones suffering..
mental illness is often easy to hide..
just speaking from personal experiance. :(
So sad.

I took interest in Heath after reading an article where he allegedly cited Johnny as an influence, about the time of BBM. Then I read the other day how he had made a firm decision to make his own path in the parts he chose, about four years ago. We all know when that was, don't we.

He really did work and live with integrity. This had to have been an accident, a terrible accident. It does seem he was hurting terribly physically and couldn't find a cure. I feel for his family, especially his daughter, and yes, I thought of his fans immediately, too. I'd like to send them a virtual fruit basket or something, but the boards are mostly down and overloaded with "guests". *sigh*

May he rest in peace.
Heath Ledger's death this week has upset people so much. His youth and talent and for so many reasons. It is always sad when a young voice has been silenced. I am however really upset at the Hollywood machine, all the entertainment shows and newsroom speculation. (Word has it that crazy evangelical group will try to picket his funeral.)um no

If the above was not enough we have dear old FOX news rubbing salt in the wound.

If after reading the article you feel inclined to email FOX like I did please feel free, I think someone needs a pink slip....

I read about that evangelical group as well and it made me absolutely furious. I've been so angry this week because of Hollywood and the media, first for jumping to the wrong conclusion of suicide and then plastering it everywhere someone could see or hear so half the world is misinformed about the life of someone. Reading several articles on ine and the comments readers leave also make me incredibly upset, the things people have said are so heartless and insensitive. Heath Ledger was a human being, just like the rest of us. With people typing, "oh, it's just another actor who offed himself," makes me wish I could do something to make people realize how terrible this is. That bit about Fox is outrageous. That man would never have said something like that if it had been a friend of family memeber of his who passed away, I don't understand how he thinks Heath Ledger is any different. I just can't imagine what his family is going through, and having to put up with all these Stupid people. I've been praying for them. A family shouldn't have to deal with heartless people like this, especially anyone who wants to protest his memorial service. It makes me sick.

Ok, sorry, rant over.

Which crazy Evangelical group? There are so many to choose from... :39: rhetorical question really, and Fox News, say no more :notlist: gawd enough with the hate, compounds the tragedy, hope it only makes them all look as stoopid as they are.

Tha crazy people that picket and yell and scream at the funerals of people killed in Irac. According to them anyone in the military condons homosexuality so they go to funerals and make people's lives a living hell, all in the name of GOD of course..let me tell you these people are really evil and very very twisted...worse than any horror movie you will ever see...rent Jesus camp if you want a real shocker...:jdasurp:

I just can't believe how some person could be so mean and insensitive. Heath was a great person a he didn't deserve what happened, but lucky him who is already out of this hell on earth with this kind of people who makes you wanna make them a heart transplant to see if that's the problem with them...than they don't have feeling 'cause their heart and mind doesn't work well.
We are all brothers, and we all have family and people who care about us and we care about them, and we all have feelings and don't deserve the extra suffering that his family is having just because of the price of fame.
so F*CK ALL THIS PEOPLE WHO ONLY CARES ABOUT THEMSELVES AND KEEP TALKING S*IT!

sorry girl it's just that this kind of things makes me wanna destroy somethig,, *=bng
if they could only think about something but themselves... :(
