Hosting an Oscar party Sunday night? If you want to toast your favorite nominees in style during the 80th annual Academy Awards ceremony, there will be cocktails. Shaken or stirred, these sparkling drinks and a few appetizers are all you need to make your guests feel like celebs.
The Demon Barber (Il Barbiere Demonio)
Serves 1
Johnny Depp is up for Best Actor for his performance in "Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street," which also won nominations in a few technical categories. The devilishly good cocktail is the creation of Reza Niroomandi, mixologist at Macelleria in the Meatpacking district.
3 ounces dry gin
Juice of 1 blood orange
Splash of Pom juice
In a cocktail shaker, vigorously shake all ingredients together. Pour into a martini glass.
