Debb I saw Host at Costco the other day! It's not in the same story line as the Twilight series but I am looking forward to reading it too!! I guess the reading bug has bit me good! And re the book release date...I knew it was something like that, I just couldn't remember what the sign said...That's why we have you!! You always know!
JJDI the author is Stephanie Meyers. And I like her writing very much. She's easy to read without dumbing down the story. If that makes sense. You should try and get your hands on Twilight (the First of the series) or Host is the beginning of something completely different. I haven't read it yet but I'm sure it will be good. Good evening all,
My birthday was very very nice. The spa was amazing, my face feels great and my finger and toe nails match in an elegant shade of pink, first time in over 2 years! I feel like such a girly girl, very rare for me but I'm deciding it's okay.
DD's overnight with her pal went well. The silly girls spent the night in a tent in the backyard as it rained and rained, now half the bedding that went out with them is soaked so guess who gets to get it clean and dry again? Took them to Prince Caspian today but couldn't bear another battle-filled fantasy so while they watched PC, I watched Iron Man. I know, it has battles too but the whole theme is different--actually very pacifist--and I gotta say Robert J. Downey has still got a whole lotta charm as well as pumped up for this movie like Johnny was for Donny Brasco. The views were quite fine, and the chemistry between him and Gwyneth was excellent and there was no gratuitous sucking face--how unusual! They went for more of a Bond-Moneypenny vibe and it worked really well. Would love, love, love to see Robert and Johnny do something together some day.
After the movies I scored big on bath mats and hand towels at JC Penny's...ah the simple pleasures a domestic bargain can bring!
The weather was fine here, if tomorrow is dry I will try to do a bit of gardening. Last night I did a lot of puttering and got the living room almost in shape again and read most of The Gypsy Madonna by Santa Montefiore. It has a bit of a Chocolat feel to it, and some interesting ambiguity. I love having a whole weekend at home, hope Johnny is enjoying the same.

and go find some wine to finish off the evening. So nice to be able to raise a non-virtual glass nowadaze!
And yes Jack, I know I have to keep a weather eye when wandering the streets in search of said bottle(s)...
Do so miss the joy of Jack in the theaters, thank heavens for DVDs!

done. Pretty good right? I'm so exhausted now, I'm making a frozen dinner for dinner. Don't have it in me to prepare a whole dinner right now. Plus that would cut into my reading time! LOL
KK looks like she's been cookin' though Yes that is absenth KK. You can order it on the internet. My BIL had a bottle of it but drank it LOL Said he wasn't impressed with the effects, but he said they don't make it the same anymore so......SJD's Sweetpea!

Plus on Monday, I get to go shopping with my good friend to help her plan her wedding! I'm so happy for her. I get to be the Matron of honor!
Babs~ I vote that road trips are harder to pack for IMO. You end up bringing a lot more with you when you go in the car. The whole 2 bag max on airplanes automatically restricts how much you can bring with you. Plus snacks and entertainment. My car is usually so full it's hard to fit the people into it!
