As for those who criticize HST's politics as niave, and I'm sticking up for Johnny here, too, shit when you realize the level and complexity of hatred that is out there, ya lose the ability to articulate, ya know? To realize the enormity of the pain in the world, or at least the quantity of useless bullshit, makes one want to crawl into a little hole and hide, find some comfortable niche, and just be, until one can no longer stand the crap, and intermittently is found sputtering nonsense, if bold and obnoxious, or emerging cautiously to speak in controlled situations, if, for example, one is a public figure with much on the line to lose who choses to speak in other ways, through, say, movies. Whatever. I'm not articulating very well. Bottom line: It's why conservatives make better politicians and lawyers, they just don't give a fuck.
So when I see a unique soul in the world sputtering nonsense or appearing cautiously, I know what they feel, if for their own reasons, that they see and they care, and I admire them for it.
