GOOD MORNING y'all, we made it over another humppp and I have 4 more radiation treatments to go!!

Today was a great day, largely because last night the DD, my best pal Cathy (an art teacher) and I went to an art exhibit of local artists at a beautiful eco center overlooking the gorgeous South Providence view of Narragansett Bay--ships sailing in the soft evening light that followed a spectacular lightning storm...sails of silver, red and pewter...waters of mercury...you get the picture, I could almost see the Pearl on the horizon.
Oh and some funny things...sweet and fun JD connections...on the way there we passed a giant rooster in front of a little grocery, just like the 7-ft cock of JD photo fame...AND then a block later we passed Barbossa's Liquor store!!! Methinks I need to reconnoiter both locations again with camera in hand. Last but not least we passed a boat yard that contained one decidedly Pearlish ship in dry dock. I kid you not! Great night, so much fun exploring a new part of town only 15 minutes from my house, and great having the energy to do it. Besides the ships and sea we saw a great blue heron and a huge white egret. Nature soothes all ills for me. Just sayin--and of course that's why JD does the same, 'cuz he's just naturally amazing.
Appropos of nothing...JJDI, I read that Vanessa's tour will make it to your land...any chance you would attend? She will have a concert at Nyon on July 26th!
Well it's bedtime here in the Ocean State. With a little luck I may actually post again "later" in the day.

Just read yesterday's thread completely...
Smitten, my most sincere good wishes to your friend and to you, who will need fortitude as well as she moves on her journey. I could not have gotten through the last seven months of diagnosis, re-diagnosis, surgery, chemo and radiation without my friends who brought and sent me Sweeney posters, food, wine, magazines, candles and more food, and then cleaned my bathroom and loaned me a laptop... little things and not so, letters, flowers, chocolate, calls and letting me be grouchy, sad, angry as needed, all were critical to my success. And of course this here place and its namesake did their share mightily! You will be sooo appreciated if you are there for her, this I can tell you from the bottom of my scrunched-up, smooshed-down, but never wore-out heart. 
Best to you and her! Make it a project, that's what JJDI helped me do, a project of determination, learning and love. I wouldn't have chosen it but it has turned out to be very enlightening and empowering and affirming. So let her know that: it sucks (remember it's okay to be mad...), but it's not the worst thing, and there are people out there who will help her every step of the way if she tells them what she needs (and doesn't). My best pal from high school whose mom had a double 2 years ago (and is doing well by the way) sent me Dr. Susan Love's Breast Book, very helpful and available in paperback. It helped me prepare for my doctor appointments at the beginning when otherwise I would have been soooo overwhelmed! and later to ask informed questions. Send it to her if you can. Amazon has it.

CC-After 2 years of community college for my AA degree I have 3 months to be calm n cool before I start classes at the University and Im enjoying every minute. I get to spend all my time with Johnny.
Good EARLy morning to all. cc...I think I like your calm theme for today. Seeing as how I'll need it. Freshmen Orintation happening today! I get to see my placement test scores, and other stuff that I'm not sure about. Walk around campus, stuff like that. Both DM and DD(Depp Dad 
) are going with me. I'll need calm just to deal with that. haha. I'm kidding I love them both. 
dram, you're post was the best thing in the world to wake up too. Especially since it's 5:30 in the morning, and I've been up since 4. I'm very glad to here you enjoyed your evening. I've seen what chemo and radiation can do to a person. The scene you described was very calming and I vote you have to go back and take pictures!!! Everything is good.

I am relaxing watching AWE....somehow between leaving the office and getting home via the supermarket and McD's I seem to have pulled a muscle in my back... it bloody hurts I have to say and if this bottle of red don;t help with the pain I may have to remove myself to bed and take my puter and Jack with me.
