I found out this morning that "Big Change" is coming. Starting July 23rd we will no longer have Mens', Ladies, and Accessories departments. They will be the Adult departments. Infants, Girls, and Boys will be Children's departments. So all and all it means our hours will most likely be cut and 2nd shift will only have one person working 3 departments. QP, roomie is a CSM for our local WM. 2 weeks ago there were
only 10 working the whole store--4 on registers, 1 at the service desk, 1 in jewelry, herself and 3 out on the floor.
Now that's a cut back!
On the other hand, my h.s. student worker whined when he had
hours added to his schedule! (he went from 4 a week to
14---in the great encouraging words of fanny---

Kk....the pool was nice today....haven't had much

been another busy day in my neighborhood.
Right now I'm consoling my newly 12 year old DS#3.
His birthday plans didn't work out like we had hoped, and he is a bit disappointed.
I told him, "If it makes you feel any better, I know of a guy who is turning 51 today."
He said he would rather be 12.
I think we need to have another piece of cake.

Just rinsed, spat and gagged after wolfing down a big ol square of chocolate that dd told me the crunchy bits were noughat, so I read the wrapper as I am picking it up off the table where she threw it and see, chocolate orange with slivers of almonds. Fuuccck, not good not good, bellowed in Jacks Dulcet Tones. so now I am sitting here Benadryl'd up and waiting to see if I need to stab self in thigh. God, the things we have to do to liven up a saturday night.

QP - recent events at (W)allfart are exactly why you need to keep on keepin' on with your guitar. You can't always get what you want from work. Sometimes you need to try to give it to yourself. Music and such helps.

Speakin' of which my gospel workshop was FANTASTIC. In addition to last year's dynamo director, we have a second even more amazing director working with him. Who happens to be a local, which means maybe I can find a way to make more music with him and his friends at other times in the year... We worked on four songs and oh baby, I hit notes I haven't hit in years. Warm weather and lots of soul will do that for the vocal chords. Can't wait til more on Monday.

My question to Johnny would be: What have you been reading lately? because he is always reading something interesting, and I love to get good book tips! And I would also THANK HIM for all the reading he does on set, and for carrying books on the street, sets such a needed example, and the wonderful books like Shantaram that his work has led me to. If that was already asked or recently answered in an interview I would ask what is his favorite bookstore ever and then tell him about Bart's Books in Ojai,--if he has never been there he would fit right in. If someone else had asked that question, my next one would probably be Have you discovered any new artists lately? and ask him to tell about it--describe the art, the place he discovered it, if he had met the artist personally. A big part of my JDOCD is fantasy conversations with him...before I go to sleep at night, when things are bad, when I'm driving... and of course living my fantasy life (all the books, art and wine I want! and a dandy partner and couple of great kids to boot). So I have practice, lots of it, with this question thing.

RE JDOCD, I find the more open I am about it the more fun it is. I used to hide my magazines and posters and beads and such, and now they are everywhere at work and home and in the car and no one complains and they cheer me up at odd moments--I'll be in the midst of a problem and look up to see Jack or Sweeney or just delightful delicious Johnny and suddenly it's all good or at the very least not so terrible. Plus, having it on display gives other admirers a chance to 'come out'--that happens so often nowadays and the Johnny bond is always a good one. To those who complain or advise against JDOCD--your loss, mates, go try sinkin' another ship, I'm sailing this one straight on 'til morning. Since JDOCD I have been able to be more adventurous and courageous and just plain have more fun. Especially including the many friends I have met here and at other sites for JDOCD beneficiaries. Hug

anyway.....after I had surgery in Oct,
and the plan was for me to stay in the
bedroom because we don't have a
bathroom on the first floor and I wasn't
allowed to do steps ..anyway I
was really down and one day I asked
DH if he would mind me ordering a Johnny
poster for our bedroom wall. Johnny Luv

He said ok..so naturally I ordered my PASSION'S
poster of Abby in the bathtub and when it came
and he opened it for me, he said "HE'S IN THE
BATHTUB" and I said yeah (like so) teehee

Anyway he put it up for me right across the room
from my recliner so I could gaze at it (and gaze I did)

Well when I went back to work and he
thought I wasn't down anymore I guess it started
to bother him..that poster on the wall, because one day
he yelled down the stairs "your poster fell off the wall" teehee

And that my dear is the end of that story... teehee

The other day a friend of mine said "You know I really only like Johnny in the Pirates movies. The rest of his movies are really weird." I asked Well have you see Gilbert Grape?...No, Well have you seen Sleepy Hollow?....No, Have you seen Donnie Brasco?....No. Ok what have you seen him in? The only other movie she'd seen him in was Edward Scissorhands! REG Ok that to many people is a very strange movie (not to me but whatever reg) So often I run into this problem. The people criticizing him have never really seen any of his work! What do they know? So why should we care? I told her I'd give her an education!!LOL We are planning a bridal shower and bachelorette party together so We'll have time together that she can't escape from me ! LOL {wicked cackle here}

Beanie....in answer to your question, here in Florida,
most of the time it doesn't just rain.....it comes
with lightning.....and, well, the last place I want
to be is in the pool.....and, its not fun floating
when the sun isn't shining....

conversationalist given the right surroundings....

I thought about this, I think I would ask him if
he misses being just plain normal. You know,
hanging out with friends, playing music, shooting
pool and just being "nobody"....I am
sure he hangs out with friends, but I am
talking about just ordinary, everyday folks.....
