DEPP'S DECOR: ANTIQUE ROW
Capt. Jack Sparrow, or shall we say Johnny Depp, "plundered" a WPB furniture store the other day. By proxy.
"It's not like Johnny Depp himself shops," says Rico Baca, co-owner of Objects in The Loft on Dixie Highway's Antique Row.
"I got a call from a purchasing agent in L.A. who was looking for something very specific. Somewhere in the paperwork, it said Johnny Depp. Otherwise, no one would have known."
The loot: a seven-piece set of vintage 1920s split reed Art Deco furniture, six chairs and a sofa. Price: $30,000. Addressed to: A certain "J.D."
I'm told Depp, who lives mostly in France and on an island near Great Exuma, the Bahamas, made several purchases on Antique Row during the past two months and has his stash of fine stuff shipped to his Los Angeles-area home.
