an elder in our family. She left peacefully. But

Quick hello all, and Happy Jack Day!! Always good to celebrate Jack! He has brought so much happiness, bravery and excitement to so many people of ALL ages and genders, it is truly amazing. I wonder when Terry, Ted and Gore knew they had a very special pirate on their hands. Day 1? or Day 10? T'would be fun to be able to travel back in time and watch it all unfurl.

KK I can so relate to your wonder at seeing a fanfic event happen in real life, after you've written it...fun and weird and wonderful all at once. Enjoy having that special connection.

QP hope your orientation went well. Can't believe you are having it in JULY!! When does school start, fergoshsakes? Ours was late August, right before all the other 'scholars' returned. Anywell, hope it was fun.

This has been a busy week, lots of good stuff getting done at work and home...DD doctor and dentist; selling the condo (YES!!!!!! we got a buyer!!); great weather and a half vacation day here so after a good sleep in, we cleaned out the back of the station wagon and found my fave sweater nestled amidst the books, maps and kid stuff. So that's where it wuz! I wonder what I would do if I had people to clean up after me? Would I invent something fabulous or write something inspiring or just spend more time by the fire or on the deck, reading? Enjoying The Calder Game by Blue Balliett this week--DD loaned it to me--a kid's book but great fun for any adult who loves art. I dunno, it would be a hard choice: genius versus uninterrupted reading time. Were I ever to become as wealthy as Mr. D I would have serious motivation issues. Would not spend $$ on antiques but would have a very sizeable account at numerous bookstores.

Saw Kit Kittredge last night, good family movie for anyone with kids 12 and under with a cast full of people who normally play leads including Stanley Tucci playing a magician--I was so astonished I gasped out loud "My God it's Stanley Tucci!" People around us giggled. Glad to keep everyone smiling, my DD just rolled her eyes. Tolerates her film-obsessed mother quite well, she does.

Well must fly and get some laundry done. As the undies are folded I will think of Jack and wish I could bury my face in his decidedly unlaundered self...

What an irresistable rapscallion!!! How did she keep from slobbering all over him?
