Just checking in ‘fore the clock strikes midnight. Tomorrow will be a busy one, flute lesson for DD at 11, then we will head to a Celtic festival where a friend’s DH’s band is playing, should be great fun, Roux would fit right in, I’ll look for him down by the river that borders the park where the festival’s being held.

My cousin was in town last night so we had culinary adventure—wine and cheese at my house, then a walk about campus, then a ride over to Federal Hill to Walter’s, a very fine establishment with northern Italian cuisine, great service and THANK GOD really good air conditioning. Yes it’s hot and hummidd here too.

Tonight took the whelp to see Journey to the Center of the Earth 3D and boy is it ever! If you do not like heights or rollercoasters be prepared to have your eyes closed for about a third of the movie. But it was fun escape in the coolness for a few hours.

I have enjoyed lurking late nights this week, especially enjoyed everyone’s versions of summer camp. I wanna go to THAT camp, I tellya!

QP I have two words for you: ear plugs. Seriously, and a white noise CD might help too. Been there, done that darlin’—find an upperclasswoman friend who is living off campus and visit often—that’s what I did my Freshman year and it saved me. Every time she went out of town to see her long-distance honey I would house sit and take care of her cat. When the honey arrived in town and moved in, I befriended a faculty member who let me housesit for her over spring break! Desperate times calls for desperate measures...

Congrats to all you Corona virgins out there. For many years it was my pale beer of choice but what I really love now is Dos Equis or Sam Adams Summer Ale. Of course Margaritas are still the very best but beer does quench and sometimes we need quenching.

Wonder if Johnny’s been swimming lately? I would be his safety buddy anytime...just sayin’. Okay time's up for me.
