This American Life: Letters is here !!
as we reported last February....Ira Glass' This American Life will air Sunday 5-04-08 on ShoTime and also have a downloadable podcast the week following, featuring a touching story of Mike Phillips a resident of Tampa FL. that has a rare spinal condition. Glass grants a wish to Phillips by having Johnny read his letters which are usually only voiced by a computer generated voice. In another tid bit.. Fathom Entertainment had teamed up with Glass to present the TAL LIVE theater event broadcast in select theaters across the USA on MAY 1st only.

Johnny gets the Kid's Choice !
But the only guy in a fedora getting slimed was Harrison Ford ! Johnny, off for the weekend from filming Public Enemies was unable to attend so in a footnote announcement to the KCA's on 3-29 he was quietly announced.'

Sweeney takes home the Achievement in Art Direction Award !!
Where we knew Johnny would once again get overlooked.. we are proud he was nominated. One of our dear Admirers put it this way: "...He is a winner in our mind and hearts...and he needs no awards to prove that" yeah no naked man was needed for his award shelf to tell us Johnny Depp is the Bestest Actor Ever. We knew it long before they ever gave him a nod. Well I suppose we can try again next time 'round but for now we want him to just go relax and be happy there are no speeches to give.
And kudos to Dante Ferretti for his fabulous production insights and to Francesca Lo Schiavo for amazing set designs/decorating. GO SWEENEY !!!
Le Diabolique Barbier De Fleet Street Hits Paris...
Johnny and Tim continue to spread the word of the Demon Barber of Fleet Street tonight by taking on Paris.

Johnny's Secret Visits...?
News is just now surfacing of a secret visit to the Great Ormond Street Hospital made by a special pirate around Nov. 19th 2007. This news surfaced when the reports of the recent, generous £1 million gift made by Mr.Depp were released today. GOSH has not yet publically confirmed these stories but we like to think it is true and does reflect the kind, heartfelt thanks the Depp's have for the organization that assisted them last March when Johnny and Vanessa's daughter was taken ill while in London.
And the Golden Globes goes to....
After his 7th nomination Johnny finally takes the long deserved Golden Globe award bestowed upon him from the Hollywood Foreign Press for Best Actor Motion Picture Comedy/Musical category. Sweeney Todd also takes home top honors in it's category of Best Motion Picture Comedy/Musical. Not too much hoopla to report but Johnny said his many thanks in a later statement and credited Tracey Jacobs, Tim and Helena and his family. Congratulations Johnny on a much deserved award!! Keep an eye out for the FedEx guy !
Sweeney Premieres at the Odeon
Johnny and the entire cast of Sweeney Todd all made appearances on the red carpet tonite at the Odeon in Leicester Square in London.
The rain in London stopped just long enough for the entire crew to walk the carpet and Johnny even spent some time signing autographs. Tonights festivities continue after the screening with an afterparty benefit gala for the Greater Ormond Street Hospital. Sweeney Todd opens in the UK on January 25th 2008.
**Next premiere is in Paris on January 15th. No confirmations tho yet if any or who of the cast will show.
Johnny Arrives in Japan !

Our Year in Mini-Review...
Happy New Year from all of us at Johnny Depp Admirers Inc.com... We have had such an eventful year from the Peoples' Choice Awards, Night at the Agora Witkin Memorial, Pirates of the Caribbean: At Worlds End filming and premieres at Disneyland, Tokyo and London as well as our Anaheim May Meet-Up with almost our entire gang and even members of our sister sites joining us ! The adventures of Admirers at the Evening w/Tim Burton in NYC,Sweeney Todd premieres in L.A and NYC making our list too. The addition of our newly recovered and restyled message boards in December of '07 and our wonderfully remodeled website top off our 4th anniversary. Oh my what a year it has been!! We sincerely wish the best to you and yours and to a very happy, healthy and prosperous New Year in 2008 !!
